Meet Peppie!

Beautiful Peppie is another one of our wonderful FIV+ kitties who is looking for a home. She is a very friendly, laid back girl who gets along great with all the kitties in the FIV walkin Kennel. At PCON we believe every kitty deserves to find their purrfect home. Sometimes FIV kitties are overlooked because they have a disease. BUT did you know that most FIV+ kitties live just as long as kitties without FIV? FIV stands for feline immunodeficiency virus. It simply means that these kitties have a weakened immune system, so if they do get sick they will have a little bit of a harder time fighting it off. But with normal vet visits and a stress free environment, these kitties can thrive just as any normal kitty would. FIV is only passed from cat to cat through deep bite wounds, as it needs to be transmitted into the blood system. This means that FIV+ cats can live in the same home as FIV- cats as long as they don’t fight.
